It’s not your typical love story when Doug and Kayleen meet at the nurse’s office in their elementary school. Over the next thirty years, they are brought together again and again by injury, heartbreak, and their own self-destructive tendencies. Rajiv Joseph’s compellingly intimate story tackles the balancing act between the fear of letting all our deepest wounds show and the quest to be fully understood.
